What is a Course Code?
Each subject combination under the Kerala Higher Secondary programme is assigned a unique Course Code. This code identifies the specific set of subjects taught in a stream at a particular school. The Practical (Y/N) column indicates whether the course includes a practical examination component — Y for Yes and N for No.

How to Apply via HSCAP Portal
- Visit the Official Portal: Go to hscap.kerala.gov.in — the official single-window admission portal for Kerala Plus One admissions.
- Register with SSLC Details: Create your login using your SSLC registration number, date of birth, and other required credentials.
- Browse Schools & Course Codes: Search for schools in your preferred district and check which course codes they offer.
- Add Preferences in Priority Order: Add as many school + course code combinations as possible in order of preference to maximise your allotment chances.
- Submit Before the Deadline: Confirm and submit your application within the official deadline. Late submissions are not accepted.

Aspiring for Science?
Codes 1–9 and 40 are ideal for students aiming for Engineering, Medicine, Research, or Technology careers. Code 5, with Computer Science, is popular for IT fields.
Interested in Humanities?
Codes 10–35 and 41–46 are best for Civil Services, Law, Journalism, Social Work, and Language studies. Codes 34 and 35 are great for media careers.
Commerce & Business?
Codes 36–39 prepare students for CA, Business Management, Finance, and Economics. Code 39, with Computer Applications, adds a tech edge.
